I am running VMware server Beta 2.0 on Windows Server 2003
x64 SP2 (Quad Xeon X3210, 8Gb Ram), but this applies equally if you are running
Linux (any version).
I managed to resolve the performance issues as follows:
1.
Locate the VMWare Server install directory
2.
Shutdown all VMWare processes and services
3.
Rename vmware-remotemks-debug.exe to
vmwanre-remotemks-debug.exe.org and vmware-vmx-debug.exe to
vmware-vmx-debug.exe.org
4.
Copy vmware-vmx.exe to vmware-vmx-debug.exe and copy
vmware-remotemks.exe to vmware-remotemks-debug.exe
5.
Start all services
I experienced good performance increases and acceptable CPU usage, I hope this
helps you.
