the problem I was having was that in the ESX install it was only showing 2 20meg hard drives to install ESX too.  As this is impossible I knew something was wrong.  The solution to the problem is the remove the Access LUN from that particular host group.  You don't need it and it doesn't really provide any extra functionallity.
