Whether or not to enable node interleaving on systems running ESX Server depends on your particular workload.
The BIOS setting for node interleaving determines whether the system behaves more like a Non-Uniform Memory Architecture (NUMA) system, or more like a Uniform Memory Architecture (UMA) system. Hewlett-Packard discusses this technology in the "HP ProLiant DL585 Server Technology" technology brief at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00180597/c00180597.pdf and in the HP ROM-Based Setup Utility User Guide at http://docs.hp.com/en/347569-003/347569-003.pdf.
ESX Server implements several optimizations designed to enhance virtual machine performance on NUMA systems; for more details, download the "NUMA Support for ESX Server 2" white paper at http://www.vmware.com/pdf/esx2_NUMA.pdf.
