when setting up a sub domain for a website,:
- you must go to the primary DNS server (usually found by whois for the domain) for the domain and add an a-record.
- on intended host webserver, add a new website in IIS, (or modify an existing one) and add the sub domain name to the host header (properties>website>advanced)
